Persistent Object Tracking

LiDAR’s most traditional use is in autonomous driving and ADAS systems. PreAct’s offering in that area is a system of three sensors to give delivery van drivers enhanced awareness while in reverse.

Due to field of view limitations and saturated illumination of close-up objects, the system has blind spots near the top rear corners - a critical area when reversing. By incorporating steering angle and wheel speed information from the van’s CAN bus, I was able to keep track of objects even as they entered the system’s blindspot.
